Kara was born and raised in Miami and learned her love of animals from her father, a veterinarian. She worked at his practice every summer as a child and had every type of pet around her house growing up. Kara graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in commerce and went on to earn her CPA and work for Arthur Anderson in Washington, DC. After she got married, Kara moved back to Miami where she raised her two daughters.
As a soon-to-be empty nester, with one daughter already in college and the other starting her senior year in high school, Kara was eager to explore new opportunities to reignite her love for animals. She decided to combine her passion for animals and love of the outdoors and join the Equipaws crew’s Coconut Grove and South Miami team!
