After graduating from the University of Miami and receiving an MBA from FIU, Flavia pursued a career in business development. During her spare time, Flavia spent years fueling her interest in pet care by volunteering with multiple pet rescues, fostering abandoned dogs, and helping to facilitate pet adoptions.
In 2011, she founded Equipaws Pet Services with her sister Franca â combining her acumen for business with her love of people and their pets. She has since grown Equipaws to become the #1 Pet Care Service in South Florida, as voted by The Florida Villager, and the best dog walking service in Coral Gables, as voted by the Coral Gables Magazine, with a 5-star Yelp rating. Equipaws today boasts a team of over 20 employees.
Flavia is a past National Association for Professional Pet Sitters board member. Dedicated to improving pet care standards nationwide, Flavia is regularly involved in several mastermind groups with multi-million-dollar pet-sitting companies that discuss the industry’s future.
Flavia also leads numerous pet-focused events around Miami, including Equipawsâs monthly pack walk in South Miami and Woofstock at The Barnacle. Sheâs a member of the Women for Success Network, the Ladiesâ Ledger, and the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce (and chaired their Women Business Network Committee for three years), a member of the board of the Rotary Club of South Miami, and serves on the Rotary Club of South Miami’s SOMI Art Fest board. She likes relaxing at home with her fiance and pups when she’s not working or volunteering.
