1. Chewy Bark Park, the Underline, Coral Gables

Located on The Underline in Coral Gables, Chewy Bark Park was designed with Miami pet life in mind. From cooling turf to plenty of hydration stations and agility elements that encourage safe play and socialization, this space was built for morning fetch, weekend playdates, and the everyday joy of spending time outdoors with your dog.

2. Chapman Trail Dog Park

This beautiful 3.5-acre park is surrounded by large trees, offering plenty of shade while you can have fun with your pup. Off- and on-leash options available!

Chapman Trail has a fully fenced area that includes separation between small and large pups. Your pet is welcome to roam off-leash in this designated area. There is lots of space for them to run, play, and have fun.

If you’re looking to take a hike, there is a nice, scenic trail that leads to the water you can explore with your dog, but they must be on leash (although we always see dogs running free, heads up!). Make sure you take dog poop bags and something to hold them- trash cans are few and far in between.

They even have locations to set off in your kayak or canoe!

3. Ingraham Park

Along the historic Coral Gables waterway lies this beautiful leafy public space, Ingraham Park. There are 2.25 acres to explore; you will find plenty of shaded benches, scenic water views, a fountain inspired by the Palace of Alhambra, exercise stations, walking and jogging paths, misting machines, and more!

Dogs are always welcome but must be leashed. 

You can enjoy a nice stroll with your pup along the walking trail or enjoy sitting and watching the boats go by. The Commodore Bike Trail is connected via a red bridge over the Coral Gables Waterway. If you’re out enjoying a nice ride with your pup!

This beautiful, historical park was originally built in 1927 and has been an important part of the community. Country Club Prado is known for the lush greenery throughout, a two-mile walking trail, and a beautiful water fountain.

5. Ruth Bryan Owen Waterway Park

You will find this small, lovely park along the canal of Coral Gables, making it the perfect spot to set off on a kayak adventure. If you prefer to stick with land, there’s 1.25 acres for you to explore with your pup. 

Dogs are always welcome but must be leashed. 

Between the water and rich plant life, this is a wonderful spot to sit and watch nature. Your dogs will find birds, lizards, squirrels, jumping fish, and other Florida wildlife. As always in Florida, keep your dogs away from fresh water in case of alligators and crocodiles in the vicinity.

6. Alhambra Water Tower

Once a water tower for the town, now a beautiful spot to enjoy a relaxing day. Alhambra Water Tower was built in 1924; it’s known as the “lighthouse that never saw the sea.” You can enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood with your pup and get to learn about this beautiful architecture.

Not only can you enjoy this park during the day, but it’s great if you’re out at night! The tower illuminates this illuminating glow, creating a beautiful pathway of light.

Lisbon is a small but enchanting park, nestled in Coral Gables.  Often referred to as “picturesque”, you will find lots of greenery and butterflies along the small trail. If you’re looking to have a nice, short shaded stroll with your pup, this would be perfect!

Lamar Louise Curry is considered a “pocket park”, but there is nothing small about the budding greenery and beauty. Starting from the entrance and throughout the park, you will find blossoming shrubs and trees. It’s the perfect place to take a nice scenic stroll with your pup- on leash, of course.

Salvador Park offers so much for the family, including your dogs! There are two playgrounds for the kids, plus a zipline. You can take your pup on a leashed walk through the park, enjoying nature and a shady path.

In the past few years, they’ve even added a fenced-off area for dogs to roam off leash and exercise in the sand!

This is the perfect park to spend the day having fun, with the whole family or just you and your pups.

This 630-acre urban park offers a variety of services and activities for the whole family! There’s a full-service marina, snack bar, and restaurant housed in a historic coral-rock building. Plus, picnic pavilions and a nature trail! 

Leashed dogs can enjoy taking a walk with their parents along their beautiful 1.4-mile natural footpath. There are plenty of oak trees offering shade. However, the BEACH AREA IS NOT PET-FRIENDLY.

Located nearby in Coconut Grove, Blanche Dog Park is the perfect spot to enjoy off-leash time with your dog! The park is fully fenced and split between large and smaller dogs. 

There is plenty of shaded sitting area to rest. There are also water fountains for humans and pets!

This has become a hotspot for lots of pet parents. Check it out for yourself!

• Check the weather and heat index for the day. Try to plan around cooler periods.
• Pavement can get hot quickly, so be careful with your pups’ feet! If you don’t have them, it may be time to test some booties for them.
