El Dia de Muertos
You’ve invited: El Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, celebration is an important holiday for remembering deceased loved ones in Mexico. Mexican families welcome the souls of their deceased loved ones back for a loving reunion, and our beloved pets arrive to visit us first on October 27th. They stay with us through November 2nd, the big day where they celebrate with skull parades, ofrendas, altares, and lots of food and music. By November 3rd, the altars are removed.
We’d love for you to join us Friday, November 3rd, as Gueyita Mexicana and Equipaws Pet Services host a final special night to honor and love the pets we’ve lost in this beautiful tradition. You’re encouraged to be a part of the altar by adding your pet’s name to it. Let’s share our memories through this community altar over light bites and drinks.
Bring your pups and meet us in front of The Historic Barnacle State Park in Coconut Grove; we’ll be there from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
We’re grateful to Adriana of Gueyita Mexicana for sharing her culture’s traditions! She’ll be bringing pan de muerto for us to share, and we’ll be bringing Mexican-style hot chocolate. Many thanks to Pinecrest Bakery South Miami for providing light bites and to Moon Dog Barkery for bringing treats for our doggies.
We look forward to seeing you!
