Riley joined Equipaws so she could get paid to hang out with dogs…she jokes! Dogs are her favorite, and she has always been passionate about animals, especially after her older sister introduced her to vegetarianism, a lifestyle she has embraced since she was 13 years old. Her passion for animal welfare led her to start volunteering at Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, where she gets to contribute to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured local wildlife. Riley believes animals are often misunderstood and hopes to help others better understand and get along with our neighbors on this planet.
Growing up with her two dogs, Zayn (a.k.a. Mr. Sir), who has since sadly crossed the rainbow bridge, and August, a feisty Maltipoo who often gets what she wants, Riley has years of hands-on experience caring for dogs through every stage of life. From daily walks and feeding to vet visits, at-home care, and pet sitting for family and friends, she has always found joy in caring for and being surrounded by our four-legged friends.
Currently, she is a senior at Florida International University and is expected to graduate in Fall 2027. Studying Interdisciplinary Studies with certificates in Philosophy, Film Studies, and Religion, she is still exploring her interests and discovering what career path she hopes to pursue.
As a Miami local, Riley enjoys going to the beach or visiting parks in her free time, scavenging for interesting shells, feathers, or flowers to press while enjoying the outdoors. She also loves being creative by making beaded animals and flower keychains, and hopes to get into creating shadow boxes using the natural treasures Mother Earth provides for us!
